Surgical Tech Program
Connecticut State Community College offers a comprehensive Surgical Technology program designed to prepare students for a rewarding career as integral members of the surgical team. The curriculum focuses on developing essential skills in sterile technique, instrument preparation, and assisting surgeons during procedures. With a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience, students learn to anticipate the needs of the surgical team and maintain a safe, sterile environment. The program is offered at multiple campuses and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), ensuring that graduates meet the highest industry standards. A unique consortium agreement with Hartford Hospital provides students attending the Manchester campus access to rotations within the Hartford Healthcare System. Upon successful completion, graduates are well-prepared to excel in hospital operating rooms, outpatient care centers, and other surgical settings, making a significant contribution to patient care and surgical outcomes.
