86025 Surgical Tech Program
Northland Pioneer College’s Surgical Technology program offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree designed to prepare students for a rewarding career assisting in surgical operations. With the lowest tuition in Arizona, this program stands out through its strong partnerships with regional medical centers, providing invaluable hands-on experience. Students benefit from a rigorous curriculum that includes a substantial 760-hour clinical practicum, shadowing surgical tech professionals in real-world settings. The program focuses on developing skills in preparing operating rooms, arranging equipment, and assisting surgeons during procedures, as well as exposing students to the latest surgical equipment and techniques such as fiber optics, laser technology, and robotics. Graduates will be well-prepared to specialize in various surgical areas like orthopedics, trauma, and cardiac surgery. Upon completion, students are eligible to sit for the Tech in Surgery TS-C certification. Notably, the program is actively seeking accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA).
