The Surgical Technology Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree program at John A. Logan College is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel as vital members of surgical teams. This comprehensive program focuses on providing quality patient care by training students in the preparation and maintenance of a sterile operating room environment. Students will learn to anticipate the needs of surgeons, pass instruments effectively, and ensure the safety of patients undergoing surgical procedures. The curriculum incorporates a deep understanding of surgical and aseptic techniques, anatomy, pharmacology, and surgical procedures through classroom instruction and hands-on clinical rotations.
