Madisonville Community College’s Surgical Technology program prepares allied health professionals to become integral members of surgical teams. Students gain expertise in maintaining a safe operating room environment, ensuring proper equipment function, and adhering to strict protocols to maximize patient safety. The curriculum combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience, covering basic sciences, patient care, aseptic techniques, and a variety of surgical procedures. Students develop a strong foundation in sterile and aseptic techniques, human anatomy, and surgical procedures, learning to utilize essential tools and technologies. Upon graduation, students are eligible to sit for the national certification exam to become Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs).
