Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Surgical Technology program is a comprehensive, hands-on program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel as surgical technologists. This intensive one-year program, offered on the Harrison County Campus, prepares students to assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and registered nurses in operating rooms. The program features a blend of classroom instruction, practical laboratory experience in a state-of-the-art Operating Room Suite, and real-world clinical training in local hospitals and surgical centers. Upon successful completion of prerequisites and the program, students earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree and are eligible to sit for the national certification examination, becoming Certified Surgical Technologists (CST).
