The Surgical Technology program at Wilson Community College is a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel as integral members of a surgical team. This program goes beyond theoretical learning, emphasizing practical application and hands-on experience in a simulated operating room environment and clinical settings. Students learn to prepare surgical instruments, maintain sterile environments, and provide direct assistance to surgeons during a variety of procedures. As a CAAHEP accredited program, students are prepared to sit for the national certification exam, opening doors to diverse employment opportunities upon graduation, including hospital operating rooms, outpatient surgery centers, and specialized medical facilities. This program strives to develop competent and confident surgical technologists who are dedicated to patient safety and surgical excellence.
