Collins Career Technical Center offers a comprehensive Surgical Technology program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel as surgical technologists. This program prepares students to assist surgeons in the operating room by providing patient care, maintaining a sterile environment, and handling surgical instruments. The curriculum includes in-depth instruction in anatomy, surgical procedures, and patient safety, coupled with extensive hands-on clinical experience. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the NBSTSA certification exam, a crucial step in becoming a certified surgical technologist. A unique articulation agreement allows students to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree through Mountwest Community and Technical College.
