El Paso Community College’s Surgical Technology program is a comprehensive two-year Associate program designed to prepare highly skilled surgical technologists for a variety of healthcare settings. Due to limited seating, prospective students must successfully compete for one of the fifteen available spots and complete required cognate courses before being formally accepted into the program. The program provides graduates with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to assist surgeons during operative procedures, manage surgical equipment, and maintain sterile environments. Upon completion, graduates are prepared for roles in operating rooms, outpatient surgery centers, delivery rooms, endoscopy departments, sterile processing and even physician’s offices. The program’s accreditation by ARCSTSA and CAAHEP guarantees adherence to rigorous industry standards and ensures graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of this critical healthcare profession.
