College of Central Florida’s Surgical Services, A.S. program equips students with the essential knowledge and skills needed for entry-level positions as surgical technologists. The curriculum provides a strong foundation in human anatomy, disease processes, microbiology, and a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, tools, and technologies. A key feature of this program is its commitment to hands-on learning, offering over 600 hours of guided clinical practice in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient surgical and obstetrical units. Students gain invaluable experience by participating in a significant number of surgical cases, taking on the first scrub role. The program’s accreditation by CAAHEP assures quality and prepares graduates to confidently sit for the National Certification Exam given by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, setting them on the path to a rewarding healthcare career. The program is considered limited access and requires an information packet.
