Erwin Technical College’s Surgical Technology program is a comprehensive 15-month course designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel as surgical technologists. The curriculum is divided into two distinct phases: an 8-month pre-clinical phase, which lays the foundation in surgical principles, and a 7-month clinical phase, providing invaluable hands-on experience in real-world hospital settings. Students learn to prepare operating rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist surgeons during a variety of procedures. The program emphasizes the critical role surgical technologists play as part of the surgical team.
