Baton Rouge Community College’s Surgical Technology program is a comprehensive Associate of Science degree designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel as surgical technologists. Spanning five semesters and 69 credit hours, the program’s curriculum is meticulously structured around the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) Core Curriculum. Students gain a strong foundation through coursework covering medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, surgical procedures, and biomedical ethics.
