The Surgical Technology program at Fayetteville Technical Community College is a comprehensive, CAAHEP-accredited program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel as integral members of a surgical team. Through a rigorous curriculum, students will learn to apply principles of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and pharmacology to the surgical environment. Emphasis is placed on sterile techniques, instrument preparation, patient safety, and assisting surgeons during operations. The competitive admissions process ensures a motivated cohort of students dedicated to mastering the profession. Upon completion, graduates will be prepared to sit for the NBSTSA national certification exam, opening doors to employment in various settings such as hospitals, surgery centers, and physicians’ offices.
